Wild Carrot Herbals Rosewood Aloe

My skin gets abused. Between the cold michigan winters, my love for outdoor sports, and the oh so hot temperatures to which I set my cars heater or shower, it has no hope. As such, I'm always in search of a great moisturizer. So of course, I was thrilled when I had the opportunity to review Wild Carrot Herbal's Rosewood and Aloe Lotion.

*I was sent these products for review from Wild Carrot Herbals, as always, this does not affect my opinion of the product or company in anyway. You can read my full disclosure here.

First off, you all know I'm a sucker for packaging, but Wild Carrot Herbal truly won me over with this one. When I opened the box, each product was wrapped in a sort of bubble wrap alternative made from brown paper (how cool is that?).  The lotion comes in a brown glass bottle which was lovely enough to leave out. It didn't hurt that the box also included photographs of Wild Carrot's operation, which were absolutely beautiful. With ingredients that pretty going in, how could the results not be glowing?

Now, I'm a pretty basic skin care girl. Recently, my routine has been to wash with a homemade face wash adapted from the recipe for dry/sensitive skin. I follow this with happy face on any blemishes, then apply the rosewood aloe lotion over my face and neck. The lotion's bottle has a pump, and I've found that half a pump usually does the trick.

The lotion smells lovely, but I can't for the life of me describe it. Its not floral, woodsy, or any of the scents I would have guessed, but it is wonderful and light enough for scent sensitive users.

Now I've been using this lotion for about a month, during which I have had horrible breakouts, and horrible dry skin (awesome month, right?) Thankfully, this lotion fairs pretty well in each category. It hasn't made the breakouts any worse, and even seems to calm the redness some. It also manages the dry patches fairly well. While it hasn't alleviated the problem completely (I have yet to find any single product that can, on it's own) it makes dry patches comfortable. What's even better is how smooth foundation looks over this.

This lotion, at night, is wonderful. I can apply it before bed and wake up with perfectly soft skin. Mornings, on the other hand, are a whole different story. Rosewood aloe takes a minute to soak in, which means I have to remember to apply early on in my morning routine if I want to put foundation over it- which I do. Between trying to eat healthy (breakfast, ladies!), taking care of Dozer, and rushing out the door for class, I often forget the lotion "soak in" time. Foundation can be applied right after, it just looks so much nicer after the lovely ingredients have a minute to soak in.

As a body lotion, I love using this on my arms and legs before going out. The lotion gives your skin a healthy "I drink enough water, eat healthy, and work out everyday, so my skin naturally glows" look which lasts through the night

As for price, the rosewood aloe lotion sells on Wild Carrot Herbal's website at 15.99 for 8oz. and a little goes a long way, especially if using it as a facial lotion.

If your in the market for skin care supplies, I would definitely check out Wild Carrot Herbals. The rosewood aloe lotion is lovely, and they have oh so many others to choose from! Personally, I can't wait to add a few more of their creations to my routine.

  1. I love this lotion and the product line in general. The lemon eyecream is great and I am a BIG fan of the saffron seed facial cream, it makes me look 10 years younger! The folks who make this product used to live near my home in McMinnvill OR but have since moved to the far eastern end of the state, they are missed but are great about sending product.
