Review: Mountain Woman Lip Balm

I'm sort of a lip balm addict. I have trouble going through check out at the grocery store I shop at because they have a shelf of lip balms at the end... I mean really, how can you resist?

Due to my addiction, I have tried quite a few different balms. Recently, I had the opportunity to try three of Organic Mountain Woman's balms.

The balms I tried, as you can see, were mocha lattechai, and black raspberry. The products were sent to me by Shannie, the shop owner, for review. You can read my full disclosure statement here

Before getting into detail, I'd like to say I loved how the products arrived. The rugged mailer is recyclable, and plastic free. The balms were contained in a small reusable pouch. Each balm was individual sealed in plastic.

These balms are the consistency I go for. They're more on the solid side than some softer products, but not so hard that you have to work them in. They glide on smoothly, and cover my lips in one swipe.

Each balm is scented and slightly flavored, which may turn some off. I can be very sensitive to scented and flavored products, but I've found that the flavor is so mild that after a minute I don't notice it anymore.

I love they make my lips look a little shinny, smooth, and just better as soon as I apply the balm. The best part? The effects last! I don't find myself needing to reapply all throughout the day (even though I do... the chai is such an addicting fall scent!) They would be great for a day of outdoor activities, as they give great protection from wind and weather.

These balms are made with natural and organic ingredients, and have great packaging. Each of the balms in the coffee shop collection has a cute bag of coffee beans, while all of the other balms have the Organic Mountain Woman logo you can see on "black raspberry" in the photos.

My personal favorite was Chai, which has a warm, spicy scent. Mocha Latte smells and tastes like coffee, while black raspberry is a pleasant fruity, but not overly so, scent. I would like to see more scents from this shop, as I love the formula! Currently, Mountain Woman Organics has the three listed above, in addition to coconut, amaretto cappucino, and bare (which is unscented, and made for the mountain man in your life!).

The short story?
-These balms are the perfect consistency, really do improve my lips, and would make a perfect winter balm!
-You can get your own at organic mountain woman, on etsy.
-The scent selection is limited, and I can see some users  being turned off by the coffee scents.
-They won't set you back much, at $3.50 a piece, or in packs of 3 for $9.99

P.s. Look for some more products from Organic Mountain Woman soon!

Which balm would you go for?

    1. These have been great for me with the wind, they don't absorb full and leave a little bit of a protective layer :)

    1. Wow, two decades! That's a looong time. I bet you would like the black raspberry balm. It has a similar scent to the cherry chapstick, but a little more mild, and its all natural!
