Firsts

So I've been asked a few times for more get to know me posts, but I've been putting it off because I wasn't quite sure what you all wanted to know (because, of course, I'm a very complicated individual... ha!) So when I found the post of firsts from Julia from A blonde walked into a blog, and was all over it.

1. First thing you do when you wake up in the morning?
Usually, no matter how cold, I go outside with Dozer for a little while. It's gotten harder with the weather here in Michigan, but the cold helps wake me up. I've also been trying to follow the tips I found here and they really do make for the perfect morning.
Photo credit goes to Anthony... I was driving the car, and have recently been banned from operating the car and the camera simultaneously.

2. First thing you reach for when you open the fridge?
My fridge is fairly sad looking much of the time... grocery shopping isn't my thing. Generally the first I reach for would be water, or leftovers.

3. First thing you do when you go to the gym?
Honestly, I haven't been to the gym in months. My workouts are mostly activity based... running with dozer, hiking, mountain biking, working on Anthony's Jeep (for a great arm workout try holding automobile parts up to the bottom of a raised jeep for an hour). Then there are the days I count blow drying my hair as an arm day.
You know I can't stay inside. Hiking the trails- like the frog feet?

4. First thing you do when you get home from work?
Turn up the tunes baby! We get the house loud around here.

5. First car?
Oh my goodness it was awful. I drove a Rav4 (running on only two of the four cylinders, mind you).
Well I couldn't find a picture of my first car. So here's Dozer and I, after we drove half way across the state to watch the thunderstorms roll in from the lake, in the middle of the night. Because we're sane.

6. First car accident/traffic violation?
While I was driving, my first ticket was just after I turned sixteen. It was for speeding, not signaling changing lanes, rolling through a stop sign, and having expired tags. He let me go.

7. First thing you wanted to be when you grew up?
I have no idea... I changed my mind just about every minute- still do actually.

8. First beverage of choice?
Coffee, because I'm addicted. Or tea, because sometimes they cut off the coffee.
If you happen to be in Grand Rapids, Mi check out Madcap. We stopped there on our way to the Upper Peninsula, so good!

9. First choice breakfast?
Depends on who's making it. My mom makes great smoothies, Anthony's got the best waffles ever down, and his mom makes awesome eggs in a whole (yeah... his mom's made me breakfast). If I'm home alone, stick with me here, I make polenta, sauteed swiss chard, and an egg with a little bit of curry or pasta sauce.

10. First choice desert?
Chocolate. Or cheese cake. Yum.

11. First song that comes to mind?
Cruise. By Florida Georgia Line. I'm obsessed. It reminds me of summer.

12. First major purchase?
My first run down beat up car. It was all the money I had, but it had wheels and could go places.

13. First Job?
Babysitting. Does that count? If not, I worked at a vet's office filing papers... not so much fun, but the puppies were cute.

14. First time you flew on a plane?
Just before I was born (you know how eight months pregnant women are suppose to fly... oh wait) and just after, in a small plane my grandpa flew. My parents are big fans of travel and make sure we take a few trips every year, "travel is the only thing you can buy that makes you richer". Since I've been out of the house, Anthony and I keep up the tradition- we're saving up for our next trip now, any destination suggestions?

    1. Whenever we take a trip north and leave early in the morning, there's an area that's always a little foggy and has a great view of the sunrise... that is where the photo is from :)
